The main open plan space is made for gathering. Bouclé armchairs with sculpted bentwood arms, a low-slung sofa and rust-toned lounge seating sit beneath a sweeping ceiling of honeyed timber, with floor-to-ceiling glass framing the pool terrace and tree canopy on one side and a landscaped courtyard on the other. Beyond a screen of vertical timber slats, a statement dining table seats twelve beneath a cascade of brass-lined pendant lights. For quieter moments, a second dining area centres on a round walnut table beneath a luminous alabaster ring light, with a bar of dramatic veined stone, its own sink and open shelving close at hand for morning coffee and evening aperitifs.

The kitchen is as beautiful as it is practical. Rich timber cabinetry is set against a hand-painted botanical tile backdrop alive with tropical birds and foliage, warmly lit from beneath a floating shelf. A sweeping waterfall island with seating for four, built-in ovens, a discreet ceiling-mounted extractor and a dedicated appliance pantry make it equally suited to a private chef or an impromptu family breakfast.

Each of the five bedrooms has its own spa-inspired ensuite, finished in warm limestone and timber with matte black fittings. The principal bathroom is a true sanctuary where sculpted ribbed stone walls glow behind backlit mirrors, floating timber vanities with dark stone tops stretch the length of the room, and a walk-in rain shower with a bench and illuminated niches sits beside a freestanding sculptural tub. In the tub alcove, a mosaic of glowing ruby glass catches the light beside a picture window that looks out onto swaying palms. The guest bathrooms carry the same considered detail, with hand-finished timber vanities, mosaic feature walls, open shelving and glass-framed showers that borrow the view.

Outside, an infinity-edge pool seems to spill into the landscape, its turquoise water set against ancient trees and open sky. Shaded loungers beneath the covered terrace offer the perfect vantage point for long, lazy afternoons, while a pergola-covered lounge provides another sheltered retreat for sunset drinks. Closer to home, a fully equipped gym allows guests to keep up their routines without leaving the house, and a dedicated playroom keeps younger guests happily entertained, making Firefly as welcoming to families as it is to couples and friends.
